Fraser Coast man pleads guilty to breaching domestic violence order
A sawmill worker, who went wild, burning wedding photos and sending vile messages after finding his wife’s contraceptive pill stash, has been sentenced.

Discovering his wife’s stash of contraceptive pills led to a shocking act of rage from a Fraser Coast man, who burnt their marriage certificate and wedding photos then sent a number of abusive texts.
In one message, the man, who can not be named for legal reasons, told his wife she could “rot in hell”.
He pleaded guilty in Maryborough Magistrates Court to one count of contravening a domestic violence order.
The court heard the man became enraged when he found the contraceptive pills among his wife’s belongings, thinking she was being unfaithful to him.
He then burnt their wedding photos and marriage certificate, before sending the abusive text messages to his wife, who was in Caloundra, the court heard.
“We are nothing, I hope you are happy,” one of the texts read.
In another he called her a “f**king s**t” and told her she could “rot in hell”.
The text messages breached a domestic violence order, the court was told.
Defence lawyer Morgan Harris said the text messages had stemmed from a relationship breakdown.
The woman had been in Caloundra at the time they had been sent and there was no intention of taking the messages any further, Mr Harris said.
He said the man was currently working full time at a sawmill.
The man was fined $400 and no conviction was recorded.
