Damon Vesey Brown charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm

A driver has been charged after a serious crash between Gympie and the Fraser Coast two years ago where a woman suffered injuries and had to be cut free from her vehicle.

A man charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm has had his matter mentioned before Maryborough District Court.

Damon Vesey Brown, 48, was charged with the dangerous operation of a vehicle in relation to a serious crash on the Bruce Highway in Glenwood in December, 2020.

A woman in her 20s was flown to the Royal Brisbane Women‘s Hospital in a serious condition after suffering face, head, back and arm injuries in the crash.

Emergency crews had to free the woman from the wreck of her car.

The court heard in addition to the dangerous operation of a vehicle charge, Mr Vesey-Brown was also charged with trafficking.

Steps were being taken to deal with both matters in the supreme court, the court was told.

The matter was adjourned until November 21.
