VMR transports woman off K’gari after snake bite at Eurong

A woman has been transported off K’gari by Volunteer Marine Rescue after she was bitten by a snake, while in Maryborough a child was taken to hospital after a crash.

A woman has been taken off K’gari after sustaining a snake bite to her foot at Eurong.

The incident happened about 8.30pm on Tuesday at Eliza St.

The woman, aged in her 30s, was treated by paramedics before being transported off the island with the help of Hervey Bay’s Volunteer Marine Rescue and was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.

Emergency services were also kept busy after a crash in Maryborough on Tuesday.

Two patients, including a woman in her 30s and a female child, were transported to Maryborough Hospital in stable conditions following a two-vehicle crash on Pallas Street and Milton Street about 6pm.
