An elderly man has been taken to hospital after his car flipped on its side and flattened a garden bed along the Hervey Bay Esplanade.
Emergency services were called to the crash outside the Pialba Beachfront Caravan Park about 11.55am on Wednesday.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the man was the only person in the car at the time, and the impact of the crash had knocked down a pole on the road.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokeswoman said the man was able to escape the crushed vehicle himself, without help from firefighters.
The man was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition with a leg injury, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
Police were directing traffic along the busy tourist strip near the Main Street roundabout and WetSide Water Park.
