The case against a teenager accused of crashing a stolen car north and killing a grandmother behind the wheel of another car has been delayed as evidence remains undelivered to the defence.
The 16-year-old, who can’t be identified due to his age, faced Brisbane Childrens Court via video link.
Rosemary Franzidis, 69, died on November 7 after an allegedly stolen Audi ploughed into her sedan while she was driving on Dohles Rocks Rd at Murrumba Downs.
The boy, who was allegedly behind the wheel of the Audi at the time, has been charged with Mrs Franzidis’ manslaughter.
He is also facing two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and breach of bail over the crash involving Mrs Franzidis and the events leading up to it.
Legal Aid lawyer Rajiv Gill told the court on Tuesday that most of the prosecution brief had been delivered however there were some outstanding items.
These include a statement from one of the alleged victims, who is a police officer and is currently on leave, a number of statements from investigating officers who are also on leave, telco records and a download of the boy’s phone.
The material is expected to be obtained by the prosecution by the end of April, the court heard.
Magistrate Megan Power adjourned the case to March 18.
The boy remains in custody.
