A patient is being treated at the scene of a crash on the Warrego Highway near Dalby after two vehicles collided causing one to crash into the rear of a road train at about 9.40am.

The age and gender of the patients remain unknown at this stage but Queensland Ambulance Services has reported that the single occupant of one of the vehicles received lower abdominal pain and a minor head injury and was taken to Dalby Hospital.

The sole occupant of the second vehicle was not injured and declined treatment at the scene.

Queensland Police have closed the highway in both directions while they clean up the crash, however while the road has now reopened, heavy traffic congestion is expected for some time.
