A man has died following a crash just off a major Western Downs highway on Thursday.
Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred on Sinclairs Rd near the Bunya Highway on September 26 after the 20-year-old Wattle Ridge driver died in hospital.
Emergency services were called around 11.27am to the crash north of Dalby where it was believed the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
The Wattle Ridge man suffered life-threatening head and leg injuries and was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he later died.
A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not trapped in the crash.
The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight helicopter crew, including a critical care doctor and flight paramedic, worked with Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics to treat the patient.
The Forensic Crash Unit is urging anyone with information to contact police immediately via the Policelink website.
