Western Downs fire crews have responded to a blaze at a Weranga about 1.36pm Thursday afternoon.

Around three QFD crews and one RFS crew attended the blaze on North Rd finding the 6m by 12m shed which also served a dwelling engulfed in flames.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire with the site being declared safe by 2.53pm.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said no one was home at the time of the blaze.

He said while the cause of the fire remained unknown it was not being treated as suspicious and no investigations were underway.

Crews have now left the scene.
