Man issued with notice to appear after multi-vehicle crash on Warrego Highway at Boonarga near Dalby

A number drivers were lucky to avoid injuries after a five vehicle crash involving a semi-trailer, a bus and three cars on the Warrego Highway.

Crews were called to the crash in Boonarga outside the Cactoblastis Memorial Hall at about 7am Wednesday August 7 after reports a semi-trailer had collided with a bus and three cars.

When crews arrived the rear of the bus was on fire and fire services worked quickly to extinguish the blaze by 7.25am.

There was also a significant diesel spill which they worked to clean up.

Remarkably, there were no injuries from the pileup with Queensland Ambulance Service crews monitoring the drivers of each of the vehicles and the six passengers on the bus at the scene.

One of the bus passengers received minor grazes to the face but opted not to go to hospital for treatment.

Crews remained on scene until about 12.20pm with heavy transport vehicles helping to clear the road.

A 69-year-old man was issued a notice to appear for driving without due care and will face the Chinchilla Magistrates Court on August 22.
