THE final Businesses After Hours event for 2018 was held on Wednesday, December 5 at White Property Group.

Members of the Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry caught up to chat about the year that was, and the Christmas season that is kicking into gear.

The December certificate of appreciation was awarded to Colin Watters, the Donut Man.

"If you had to have a dictionary definition of someone who gives and is part of the Dalby community, and who is a known landmark in the Dalby community, it's Colin Watters,” Chamber president Rohan May said.

"If you go to an event here in Dalby, be it the cancer Relay for Life or up the main street on a Saturday, Colin is there, cheerful and greeting.”

Mr Watters described the award as a total surprise.

"I joined the Chamber to be a part of the community, a bit more than I have been, and the doors just keep opening,” he said.

Bruce White of White Property Group also spoke at the evening about their business and how it had evolved during the past 22 years.

"Personally, the past has been both challenging and rewarding; I'm chuffed at both,” Mr White said.

"My parents and my brothers gave me the freedom to pursue my passion for real estate, for the first 20 years as a sideline to my day job, running White Industries, and for the past two years it's become a full time job.”

Mr White described White Property Group's long list of real estate transactions with a number of past and present Dalby businesses and partners.

The Dalby Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be closed from December 24 to January 7.
