Schools, sporting clubs, charities and other not-for-profit organisations in the Western Downs can now apply for up to $5000 in grants through the latest round of Arrow Energy’s Brighter Futures program.

First launched in 2011, Arrow’s flagship community investment program is designed to support grassroots organisations and provide funding for a range of community building events and activities.

Arrow Energy’s Safety, Sustainability and People vice president Rachael Cronin said Brighter Futures aimed to support local projects that make a positive impact in their

communities.

“We believe in building a brighter future for the communities where we operate,” Ms Cronin said.

“Since we started the program in 2011, we have distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars in community grants and small-scale investments such as community events, facility upgrades, sporting equipment, training workshops and safety campaigns.

“It’s a fantastic way for Arrow to support the communities which support us.”

Ms Cronin said the program was open to all not-for-profit community organisations in the Western Downs or Toowoomba local government areas.

“There are many wonderful organisations across the Darling Downs doing incredible work to support their local communities,” she said.

“Brighter Futures offers these groups the opportunity to access financial support for events and activities that benefit their communities.”

Applications for the grants must relate to health, safety and wellbeing, active lifestyle, community connection, learning and education, environment or Indigenous partnerships.

Schools and kindergartens, aged care facilities, sporting clubs, community associations and charities are all eligible to apply.

“Our community grants are designed to empower local organisations and initiatives that align with our commitment to health, education and the environment,” Ms Cronin said.

“Together, we can build stronger, healthier and more sustainable communities.”

Applications for the 2024 Brighter Futures community grants program are open until July 12 2024.
