Bunnings' generosity to families in need

A generous donation made by Bunnings Warehouse Dalby seeks to make Christmas an easier time for struggling families.

OFTEN referred to as one of the hardest times of year for families, Christmas can strain finances and put additional pressure on those who are already doing it tough.

This week, the Dalby Crisis Support Centre received a generous 30 gift hampers from Bunnings Warehouse Dalby.

The hampers, fittingly decked out in Christmas colours, are filled with DIY craft kits, back-to-school supplies and non-perishable food items.

Family support worker Irene Tanks said this kind of donation helped make sure that children were receiving Christmas gifts.

"It helps get gifts to kids who may not otherwise receive anything. It puts a smile on kids' faces,” she said.

"It really makes a big difference, because, first off, you've got Christmas and then straight after you've got school.”

Bunnings Warehouse Dalby complex manager Scott Alsop said the team was pleased to support the Crisis Centre.

"It plays a critical role in supporting families who

are in need and we look forward to seeing this organisation continue its valuable work in the community,” he said.

The Dalby Crisis Support Centre helps families with children aged up to 18 years.
