It has taken only a few short years for a young gun Chinchilla mechanic to build his business into one of the community’s most trusted, and his dedication has been recognised yet again.
Mr Osburn has run his mobile business, JKO Mechanical, for the past three years but has more than a decade’s experience in the trade.
Starting up JKO in Chinchilla brought the mechanic back to the same town in which he started his apprenticeship several years earlier, after leaving to take jobs across Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Mr Osburn said his mechanical business worked on more than just cars and utes, with anything from lawnmowers to farm equipment and heavy-diesel work on the cards.
“As long as it's got a motor or anything sort of mechanical base, I’ll work on anything,” he said.
He said many of his regular customers had quickly become friends, and he was proud to be the first port-of-call for anyone in need of mechanical work.
Mr Osburn said working mobile also had its benefits.
“I go out to a lot of properties, (so) the scenery always changes,” he said.
While many businesses have been hit hard in recent years during lockdowns, Mr Osburn said JKO thrived, with many customers appreciating not having to travel to get services performed.
Mr Osburn also thanked his customers for supporting him and voting for him in the poll.
