Chinchilla crash: Two teenagers have been charged over the Wambo St rollover

Police have charged two teenagers over a devastating crash in Chinchilla that left two 16-year-old girls in a critical condition with head and facial injuries, revealing two vehicles were involved in the incident. Full report:

Two young men have been charged over a shocking Chinchilla crash that left two teenage girls with significant injuries.

The developments come after police made an appeal for information over the May 31 crash, which left one girl in the intensive care unit in Princess Alexandra Hospital with significant head injuries.

The car came to a stop against a Wambo Street home.

The second girl was taken to Toowoomba Hospital with a serious facial injury.

Police have now confirmed two vehicles were involved in the incident, where a Toyota Landcruiser rolled through a fence before ploughing into a house on Wambo St.

Investigators have since identified a Toyota Prado they say was also involved in the crash.

An 18-year-old man allegedly behind the wheel of the Landcruiser carrying the two girls has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.

A 17-year-old local allegedly driving the second vehicle has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to remain at the scene of a crash and obtain help.

The 18-year-old will appear in the Chinchilla Magistrates Court on September 8, while the 17-year-old will appear in the Chinchilla Children‘s Court on September 7.
