Woolmar man, 62, to face court following alleged dangerous driving, drink driving incident

A Woolmar man has been charged over alleged dangerous driving on the Bruce Highway in the Mackay region.

Police allege around 10.30pm on October 24 a vehicle crossed to the other side of the road while travelling northbound toward Carmilla on the Bruce Highway, narrowly missing oncoming traffic.

A short time later the vehicle was pulled over and a 62-year-old driver was breath tested, returning a BAS level of 0.182.

The driver, a Woolmar man, was charged with drunk driving and evasion of police.

No other vehicles were struck or members of the public injured during the alleged offending.

He is due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court on November 19.
