Paramedics treated the Longreach woman for chest injuries at the scene

A women in her 20s has been taken to Barcaldine Hospital after a single vehicle accident on Tara Road early Tuesday.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said a crew was called to the scene about 1am March 25 and located a Mazda CX-5 on the side of the road.

The driver and sole occupant, a 24-year-old Longreach woman, was treated by Queensland Ambulance paramedics at the scene for chest injuries and transported to Barcaldine Hospital in a stable condition.

Investigations into the cause are ongoing.
