Antola Trading workshirts named after Ainsley and Alex Davies in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charity

The children will have a shirt named after them in the latest range of children’s clothing, and there’s a very special reason why.

Rockhampton’s Ainsley Davies was born at just 31 weeks with a chronic lung disease, epilepsy and also has ongoing eye complications.

At just five years old she has already undergone cataract surgery and has endured a lot in her short life with multiple surgeries and ongoing treatment.

Now, the young fighter and her brother Alexander are being recognised for their strength and resilience, with a work shirt brand naming two of its newest kids’ shirts after them. They will be released later this year.

In support of regional families, Antola Trading has named each of its new season kids’ shirts after seriously ill children across the country, to raise money for charity.

The regional Queensland based brand will donate $2 from every shirt sale as part of its new partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC).

Founder Alicia McClymont said each year thousands of farming families travelled far from their homes in regional Australia to receive medical care for their children, which was often a time of high stress and financial difficulty.

During her family’s frequent visits for treatment and appointments in Brisbane, the Davies family called Ronald McDonald House home.

“Being close to the hospital meant we could get treatment and be closely monitored,” Ainsley and Alex's mother Amanda said.

“Our kids were able to play with other children that had medical conditions and this has made them more understanding.

“Without Ronald McDonald House, I would hate to think how a lot of families would survive.”

Ms McClymont said she was privileged to share the stories of resilience and strength of the brands ambassadors, “especially the seriously ill kids who have to travel to the city for medical treatment”.

Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland’s executive manager of fundraising, Fiona MacAnally said Antola Trading’s donations were an incredible fundraising opportunity for the charity that supported thousands of country children and their families each year.

“We’d like to thank Antola Trading for including us in this amazing campaign which will go towards helping us run our facilities and programs that support thousands of regional and rural families that need to travel to Brisbane to ensure their children are receiving critical care and treatment,” she said.

Each design is named after someone hand-picked by Ms McClymont and is someone who she believes is having a diverse impact on regional and rural Australia through the local community or at the highest level of the Agricultural industry.

The shirts are being released in two separate drops, with the first already released and the second drop coming out later in the year.
