A Gayndah man who allegedly punched another person several times in a violent assault at a service station is now set to front court on a string of charges.

Gayndah police claim the 19-year-old attacked a customer at the Liberty Service Station on April 26, repeatedly punching his victim in the head in an unprovoked assault.

The man was then arrested after he failed to appear in Gayndah Magistrates Court on the same day.

Police will allege the man also broke into Gayndah State School twice over the Easter school holidays and breached a condition of his bail within the same period.

The Gayndah man now faces two charges of break and enter and another one each of assault and breaching bail.

He is due to appear in Gayndah Magistrates Court on May 6.

Officers have dealt with another spate of break-ins and property-related crime in the past several days.

A 37-year-old Gayndah woman has been charged with stealing and fraud in relation to a power tool and bicycle taken from properties outside the Burnett region last year.

She is also due to face Gayndah Magistrates Court on May 6.

Police say an unknown offender was disturbed while breaking into a car parked on Porter St at about midnight on April 24, with the car-owner’s mother chasing the thief up the street towards a nearby cemetery.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact Gayndah Police on 4123 7919 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
