Monto crash: Person trapped in Burnett Highway wreck

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a serious crash in the North Burnett where a person has become trapped in the wreckage of their car.

Fireys are working to free a woman in her 70s left trapped after a single vehicle crash on the Burnett Highway west of Monto.

Emergency crews were called to the scene, near the highway’s intersection with Coominglah Rd, at 8.50am on Wednesday.

A Queensland Ambulance Services spokeswoman said another occupant of the car, a man in his 70s, was initially trapped too, but was able to free himself.

It is not yet known what, if any, injuries the pair suffered in the crash.
