REDBANK PLAINS HOUSES UP UN FLAMES

A crime scene has been declared following an out-of-control house fire in Ipswich on Wednesday evening, while fire fighters were battling two other separate blazes.

Emergency services were called to Cedar Rd in Redbank Plains following multiple reports of a large inferno.

Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed by the blaze. Four fire fighting crews are still working to bring the fire under control as of 6.45pm.

Images on social media showed thick black smoke billowing from the two-storey structure.

Early investigations suggest no one was inside the house at the time.

On a busy evening for fire crews, a second residence was involved in a house fire in Redbank Plains.

Crews arrived just after 5.30pm to the Macadamia Court property after large plumes of smoke spread through the house.

Several people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by paramedics.

Both fires were reportedly under control by 8.30pm.

BRENDALE EXPLOSION

North of Brisbane, a loud explosion was heard and houses shook after a fire ignited at Polytuff Automotive on Wednesday night, causing “substantial damage”.

Emergency services were called out to the commercial structure fire in a 60m x 30m industrial shed on South Pine Road, Brendale, just after 9.30pm.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said several crews were tasked to the scene to battle the blaze.

“We had about 11 crews there, as well as senior officers there,” the spokesman said.

“On the way to the job the crews reported large volumes of smoke.

“Crews initially made entry into the buildings to fight the fire, but they had to withdraw and continue from the outside because it was 50 per cent well engulfed at about 10.20pm.

“The fire was brought under control at about 11:20pm with the focus moving to dampening down hotspots.

“The fire was out just after midnight.”

A nearby business operator said the owner of PolyTuff Pty Ltd, Michael Stone, is “shattered” following the fire.

Brendale residents, as well as those in surrounding suburbs of Albany Creek and Eatons Hill reported hearing a loud explosion, with some even feeling the explosion in their houses.

“That was crazy, look like lots of smoke. Felt and heard it through the house,” Cassie Alexander commented.

“Heard a couple explosions while filling up,” Jackson Barbeler commented.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said initial investigations suggest the fire is non-suscpicious.

“We know there was substantial damage to the building and contents,” the spokeswoman said.

“We’re going to look into it more today.”

MORAYFIELD SUSPICIOUS FIRE

A tyre yard in Morayfield has also gone up in flames with onlookers capturing the shocking footage of a towering blaze.

Emergency services were called to the Morayfield Rd business about 7pm on Wednesday night, with six firecrews continue to battle the blaze.

Witnesses reportedly seeing 30m high flames into the sky.

It’s understood the same business was subject to a separate blaze earlier this week.

No injuries have been reported but paramedics are on standby.

Queensland Police say the Morayfield fire has been deemed suspicious.

It’s understood a person set fire to some tyres at the back of the business before running off.

Police currently have one person assisting police with inquiries.

No charges have been laid yet.

It comes after nine crews battled a 20m wide, 10m high fire that tore through a building in the northside suburb of Alderley on Tuesday night.
