The world’s largest touch football tournament has wrapped up on the Gold Coast after five days of competition across seven divisions.
Approximately 580 school teams from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore flocked to Runaway Bay for the tournament in search of gold honours.
On home turf, a commendable six Gold Coast teams earned a spot on the grand final stage (PBC in 13 Girls, Miami SHS in 15 Boys (win), Southport SHS in 13 (win) and 18 Girls, Benowa SHS in 18 Mixed).
Rockhampton’s The Cathedral College claimed a 4-3 victory in the 13 Boys over Ignatius Park (Townsville), before Brisbane SHS defeated interschool city rivals All Hallows School 3-2 in the 15 Girls division.
Centenary SHS was too good for Iona College in the 18 Boys, taking an 8-5 win before Southport fell short 7-4 to St Aidan’s Anglican in the 18 Girls.
Finally, Marist College Emerald walked away from an intense 18 Mixed 6-5 final against Benowa to polish off an undefeated campaign in which they scored 86 tries in 11 games.
