A scooter rider was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car at the intersection of Takalvan and Walker Streets in Bundaberg on Saturday night.

Queensland police, paramedics and firefighters converged on the busy scene about 8.20pm on Saturday, with officers helping with traffic control.

The intersection is on the same stretch of Takalvan Street where Matty Nilsen was struck by a car and killed while riding his bike less than a week ago.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they had limited information available but the rider had been taken to Bundaberg Hospital about 9pm.
Police had cleared the scene by 9pm.
