A man has been confirmed dead after a unit was destroyed in a fire at Bundaberg East.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the unit fire on Ann Street around 5.45am.

Police have confirmed a man was found dead inside the unit which was gutted by fire.

A crime scene was established to investigate the cause but police do not believe the blaze is suspicious.

Paramedics treated two other people in a stable condition.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the fire was extinguished shortly after crews arrived.

“It was a two-storey unit on Ann Street and the fire took place on the first level,” the spokeswoman said.
