On August 23, Bundaberg man Kuvera Gooroodoyal went to the McDonald’s restaurant on Targo Street and smashed one of the store’s front panels in before simply walking away.

“You wilfully and unlawfully damaged property, namely a door,” Magistrate Andrew Moloney said in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Monday.

Gooroodoyal pleaded guilty to the offence of willful damage.

Bundaberg police proscecutor Claire Bibby told the court Gooroodoyal had walked up to the front glass panel and kicked it, which resulted in the glass being smashed, before he walked away.

The court heard Gooroodoyal was found and taken to the Bundaberg watch house where he was given bail and was self-represented and unemployed.

Mr Moloney fined Gooroodoyal $450 and ordered he pay $328 restitution for the broken window, deferred to SPER.

No conviction was recorded.
