It was the turn of 14 & under and 18 & under players to take centre stage on Saturday in a busy day of finals matches at one of Queensland water polo’s premier tournaments. See how they went with our match replays.

Fans got a glimpse at the future of Aussie water polo when the stars of tomorrow hit the pool on the Gold Coast for the Water Polo Queensland 14 & under and 18 & under state finals.

It followed on from the success of the 12 & under and 16 & under tournament earlier this month.

In the 14 & Under Girls Maroon Grand Final, the Mermaids Pink defeated the All Hallows School Blue 7-4 with a gritty display of resilience.

And in an exhilarating shootout, St Ritas College pipped UQWPC 10-8 to take bronze.

In the 14 & Under Girls White Grand Final, All Hallows School White claimed bragging rights when winning gold over a very gallant River City side, 5-4.

In the 14 & Under Boys White Grand Final, the Gold Coast were crowned state title champions with a gripping 8-7 victory over the Mantas Black.

In the Maroon Final, we were treated to another beauty as UQWPC Purple pulled away 10-7 over the Mantas Blue.

Meanwhile, UQWPC Black put in big time to triumph Somerville 9-5 and take the Gold Medal in the 18 & Unders White Gold Medal match.
