A new McDonalds for the Bundaberg region is one step closer to reality.
The plans for a new McDonald’s restaurant in Kepnock are progressing, with an operational works development approval request submitted for civil works, including drainage and stormwater management.
The stormwater works project, valued at $150,000, is part of the larger Kepnock Town Centre master subdivision, which received prior approval in May this year.
The site at 106 FE Walker Street, which falls within the Bundaberg Regional Council area, forms a key part of this development.
The subdivision’s approval paved the way for the McDonald’s outlet to be situated southwest of the Kepnock Town Centre.
Lambert and Rehbein Pty Ltd has been commissioned to prepare the Stormwater Management Plan, which details measures to ensure compliance with local and state guidelines, including water quality and stormwater detention requirements.
With the submission of the stormwater management plan, McDonald’s is awaiting further approval to begin works, which may involve traffic control measures and confined space maintenance during construction.
