'Strong level' of properties 'still coming to market'

For some of these top performers, becoming a real estate agent has been a long time in the works, while for others Covid has inspired a career change.

Regardless of whether their background was in ice cream making, pub management or retail, these eight rising property stars have one thing in common: a rapidly rising sales ledger.

Here’s a list of rising real estate hotshots in the Bundaberg region to watch.

Kyla Wilson - Coral Coast Realty Bundaberg

Kyla Wilson is a sales executive at Coral Coast Realty.

After working in administration for the agency, Ms Wilson made the leap 18 months ago to becoming an agent.

She’s completed her Traineeship Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) and settled 69 properties so far.

Along with being an agent, she also manages the Coral Coast Realty website.

Ms Wilson loves the real estate environment and the challenge of being a sales executive.

“I really just love listening to people’s stories and finding out why they’re looking for their next home or what they’re hoping to get from an investment property,” Ms Wilson said.

“It’s exciting, it’s fun, there’s never two days that are ever the same - it just makes it a great place to work and a great industry to be in.”

Jessie Fuller - Sales Consultant Ascot Real Estate

Jessie Fuller, 28, is only nine months into her real estate journey as a sales consultant.

She joined Ascot Real Estate in June, 2021, after an eight-year career in management running pubs on the Gold Coast.

She was born in New South Wales, grew up at Redlands in Brisbane, and then made the exciting move to Bundaberg in November, 2020.

Ms Fuller said her strong customer service background was to thank when it came to breaking into real estate.

“You get to meet a lot of people in pubs, you get to meet a lot of people doing this as well, it kind of just fits,” Ms Fuller said.

She described herself as being personable and easy to deal with as an agent.

“I listen to what people have to say, I let them tell me how they want to go about their sale,” she said.

She has sold 17 properties to-date.

Leigh Carney - LJ Hooker Bundaberg

Sales associate Leigh Carney, 24, joined LJ Hooker Bundaberg in June, 2021.

The Bundaberg Christian College graduate was inspired to break into real estate after looking at purchasing an investment properties with her partner.

While she’s still learning the ropes of becoming a solo agent, this rising star said being “Bundy born and bred” had provided her with local knowledge of the community.

“I can understand what it’s like to be purchasing homes, we’ve purchased a few different homes throughout the short time that we’ve been able to, so I understand and can help people go on that journey for themselves,” she said.

Ms Carney currently lives at Alloway on a farm with her partner.

“When I’m not working here, I’m generally out at the farm getting my hands dirty,” she said.

Daniel Randall - Harcourts Ignite

Sales specialist Daniel Randall, 29, started with Harcourts Ignite, formerly A1 Realty Wide Bay Burnett, in January, 2020.

The father of four has lived in Childers for the past 18 years.

In the last 12 months, Mr Randall has closed 156 sales and become the top agent for the Childers Greater Region, and made the top six agents for Bundaberg.

Before real estate, Mr Randall found himself scrolling through properties online and in the Saturday paper from a young age.

“I have a diverse background, starting in retail, hospitality, our family ice cream manufacturing business, then into the health care industry before entering the real estate industry,” he said.

For Mr Randall, the best part of his job is building relationships in the community.

“It’s a privilege to be invited to appraise clients’ homes and see the amazing work people have done to their properties,” he said.

Joshua Wiltshire - LJ Hooker Bundaberg

Joshua Wiltshire, 22, is a sales associate and joined the LJ Hooker Bundaberg team in 2021.

He started in the agency’s rental department and moved into sales about six months ago.

Born in Brisbane, Mr Wiltshire moved to Emerald and then Bundaberg, where he graduated from Bundaberg Christian College.

While he’s still training to be a solo agent, Mr Wiltshire has already bought his first home, which is what sparked his interest in becoming an agent.

“It sounds really cheesy but I really enjoy the people. I think getting to meet so many different people from so many different backgrounds, getting to help people out, especially with such a big purchase such as buying a home, especially someone’s first home or their first investment - I think that’s really exciting,” he said.

Ethan Hyde - Ray White Bundaberg

Ethan Hyde is a sales consultant at Ray White Bundaberg. Joining the agency in January, 2021, Mr Hyde has sold 16 properties as a lead agent.

Previously working as a personal trainer, Mr Hyde said property has always been an interest of his.

“I really enjoy sales and meeting people,” he said.

“Property has always been an interest and passion so it seemed like the obvious choice.

“The social aspect of the job is great and the fact you get rewarded based on effort.”

Mr Hyde has lived in Bundaberg since 2005 and is also president of The Waves Falcon Rugby Union Club.

Spencer King - RE/MAX Precision

Spencer King, 20, is a sales associate for RE/MAX Precision, joining the team in January, 2020.

In his first 13 months with the agency, Mr King worked as a personal assistant and was promoted to sales associate just under a year ago.

In his short time at the agency, the Bundaberg State High School graduate has been involved in 186 transactions, from selling to listings.

“Throughout secondary school, I knew real estate was the industry I was the most intrigued and passionate about, therefore I was eager to break into a role within the industry after graduating secondary school,” he said.

“By far I have found the most rewarding and fulfilling aspect of a career in this industry to be achieving a desirable result for both sellers and buyers.”

Jakob Baumgartner - LJ Hooker Bundaberg

Just one month into his career as a sales associate at LJ Hooker Bundaberg, Jakob Baumgartner, 21, is driven to help people find their dream home.

Coming out of five years in the entertainment industry as a theatre technician, Mr Baumgartner has finally landed his dream job in real estate sales in 2022.

“Obviously with Covid and everything, the entertainment industry took quite a hard hit and obviously with that I decided to change into what I wanted to do with my life,” he said.

Mr Baumgartner was born in Bundaberg and graduated from Shalom College.

“I’ve grown up in Bundaberg my whole life. I’m born and bred here, I’m quite well connected I’ve come out of council and made a lot of connections which is great,” he said.
