Australia Day celebrations were held at Nielson Park Beach on Thursday with thong throwing competitions, live music and water slides. It was a great day out. See all the awesome photos.

Free and fun Australia Day events were held at Nielson Park Beach this year by the Bundaberg Regional Council, with live music, food stalls and a classic thong throwing competition just some of the fun.

‘Bridge between country, city’: Boost for Wide Bay, Burnett farms

People brought their picnic blankets and camping chairs to soak up the hot day, with a water slide and life saver stilt walkers keeping things cool.

The morning began with a Railway Picnic as part of the Great Australian Bites campaign.
