A 26-year-old Coonarr man is facing a raft of charges following his arrest after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash at Bundaberg earlier this week.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said there was a warrant for the man’s arrest at the time of the incident at Avenell Heights on Tuesday morning with police already looking for him in relation to a string of other alleged offences.
Following the incident at Avenell Heights it is believed he allegedly stole another car a short time later before being involved in a second crash from which he also fled.
Police found a firearm and drugs in one of the cars he is alleged to have been driving.
The man is facing 22 charges including multiple counts of evading police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving unlicensed as well as one count each of failing to remain at the scene of an accident and rendering assistance, failing to dispose of a needle, possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of a weapon, wilful damage and possession of property suspected to be from the commission of an offence.
He was expected to face Bundaberg Magistrates Court this week.
