Police looking for next of kin for Dalby fatal crash victim

UPDATE: Police are working to locate a next of kin for a 53-year-old woman who was killed in a three-car collision on the Warrego Hwy.

UPDATE: Police are working to locate a next of kin for a 53-year-old woman who was killed in a three-car collision on the Warrego Hwy.

Dalby road policing unit officer-in-charge Sergeant Brett Stevenson said the woman was travelling east on the highway when her Ford Laser was involved in a head-on collision with a westbound Toyota Prado.

He said a Toyota Hilux travelling behind the Laser then also became involved in the collision.

Emergency services were called to the scene, five to 10km east of Dalby, 2.40pm Friday.

Sgt Stevenson said the woman was from the Tara area.

"Finding family for her has been quite difficult," Sgt Stevenson said.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

"We haven't discounted anything yet."

FRIDAY 4PM: One person has been killed in a traffic crash on the Warrego Hwy, 10km east of Dalby.

A woman was initially trapped in one of the vehicles, and has been freed by firefighters.

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service is currently working to remove the person who was killed.

The crash took place between Bowenville and the Dalby-Cecil Plains Rd turnoff about 2.40pm.

Both lanes of the highway are currently open under supervision.
