UPDATE: A 56-year-old Kingsthorpe man has been identified as the truck driver killed in a rollover near Oakey yesterday.
Police said the driver was travelling west-bound on the Warrego Highway when he came across traffic which was banked up due to another crash.
He braked heavily and his fully laden cement truck left the road, hit an embankment and rolled about 2.20pm.
He died at the scene.
The highway was reopened at 6pm last night.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
UPDATE: A man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Oakey earlier this afternoon.
Initial investigations indicate a truck travelling west along the Warrego Highway rolled about 2.30pm.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 50s, died at the scene.
The Warrego Hwy is closed to all traffic and diversions are in place.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
YESTERDAY 2.48PM: A truck has rolled on the Warrego Hwy 5km east of Oakey.
Emergency services have arrived at the crash which was reported about 2.30pm.
There are reports of fuel leaking from the overturned truck.
The truck driver is believed to be trapped inside the vehicle.
Traffic is being diverted around the crash.
