Don’t be startled if you run into a zebra, elephant or giraffe when shopping in Toowoomba over the next couple of weeks.
The life-sized animal statues are part of a safari-themed putt putt course at Grand Central Shopping Centre and is just one of the several free activities being held around the region these school holidays.
Among some of the first young participants to tee off were Atticus Nepia and Jupiter Nepia.
Grand Central Shopping Centre marketing manager Julie Thompson said all members of the family could take part in the free activity.
“Head on in for this free safari putt putt event and compete with your family to see who the best on course really is,” she said.
“We can’t wait to see our customers take the safari journey and discover oversized gorillas and rhinoceros nestled into the course.”
Located in the centre’s central court on level one and outside Rozzi’s Italian Canteen, the putt putt course will be open daily from 10am to 2pm.
Family members will be able to tee off on the course until July 10.
Children must be accompanied by an adult while on the course.
