TAKE a look back at one of the worst crashes on the notorious Toowoomba Range. In 1978, a truck crashed into the Log Cabin Service Station, injuring three men.

THREE men suffered minor injuries when a semi-trailer crashed into the Log Cabin Service Station on the Toowoomba Range on September 6, 1978.
A car parked at the service station was damaged in the crash.
The Brisbane-bound transport, a refrigerated unit carrying tonnes of buffalo meat from the Northern Territory, hit the service station after its brakes failed.
A 1959 Holden sedan and a nurseryman's van were also caught up in the crash.
Two men had to make a dash into the shop and were caught in debris as the truck hit. Proprietor Neville Hammond suffered a thigh injury.
Chronicle photographer Bruce McKenzie was one of the first on the scene.
