THREE men suffered minor injuries when a semi-trailer crashed into the Log Cabin Service Station on the Toowoomba Range on September 6, 1978.

A car parked at the service station was damaged in the crash.

The Brisbane-bound transport, a refrigerated unit carrying tonnes of buffalo meat from the Northern Territory, hit the service station after its brakes failed.

A 1959 Holden sedan and a nurseryman's van were also caught up in the crash.

Two men had to make a dash into the shop and were caught in debris as the truck hit. Proprietor Neville Hammond suffered a thigh injury.

Chronicle photographer Bruce McKenzie was one of the first on the scene.
