SHOWS of support from four major airlines have revealed their strong interest in launching regular flights through Wellcamp Airport.

QantasLink, Virgin, Skytrans and Alliance all had a visual presence at the open day.

They were there to endorse the initiative shown by airport developer Wagners, but also to carry out some market research of their own.

QantasLink Queensland general manager Else D'Alessio stopped short of committing the airline to operating from Wellcamp, but said the company was definitely interested.

"QantasLink is very supportive of the project and we wish the Wagners all the very best," she said.

"We have not made a firm decision about where we will fly to.

"Today is about researching and finding out where people want us to go.

"We are always looking for new opportunities and destinations, and this airport will be great for Toowoomba."
