Two people have been charged and are facing multiple allegations after they were involved in an incident which resulted in a police chase.

The incident which occurred in the North Toowoomba area on Friday, January 13, between 11am and 11.40am, saw two women, both aged in their 20s, charged for several offences.

The vehicle which was reported as being allegedly stolen was intercepted by police.

Tracked using the Polair police chopper, the vehicle was followed with information being relayed to police crews on the ground.

While driving the Commodore, the woman lost control of vehicle on Kenilworth St, about 11.40am and crashed into a parked vehicle.

Both female occupants then fled on foot, but they were soon apprehended by police nearby.

It is alleged the vehicle had also been sighted at the scene of a break-in at a house in Silver Ridge about 9.30am that morning, where a 2011 red VW Golf was also reportedly stolen.

The 20-year-old driver from Toowoomba and 23-year-old passenger from Cambooya, were both arrested and charged for committing multiple offences.

Expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Saturday (today), the driver was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstructing police and stealing for an unrelated matter.

She was also charged with being a learner driver that was not properly supervised, not properly displaying L plates, failure to comply with requirements and failure to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash.

The 23-year-old woman was also charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstructing police and stealing for unrelated matter.

She appeared at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Friday and is listed to reappear at a later date.

The Holden Commodore was allegedly stolen from a private address in Oakhurst on December 6.

Police are still searching for the VW Golf which holds Queensland registration plates 790RRO.
