Platter of Fact owner Teryl Coote is putting a twist on the concept of dip and sip.

The former hairdresser has put her creativity to the test and is now offering a unique DIY platter workshop.

“Our Charcurita classes will teach people how to make charcuterie spreads in a reusable margarita glass, which is how we came up with the name,” Ms Coote said.

“I see the world through colours, so I like to show people how to create a bright arrangement while complimenting the flavours.”

Ms Coote said she enjoyed the experimentation process and wanted to share ideas with others.

Showcasing the region’s locally-grown produce and her own homegrown edible flowers, a range of cold meats, cheeses, fruit and indulgent treats can be used to fill the glass.

The business owner said while she would be offering workshop sessions in the future, the concept would also be perfect for private functions.

“It would be great for a hen’s or birthday party and the girls can enjoy cocktails while making their own Charcurita,” Ms Coote said.

“I’m also thinking about offering a beer stein option for the guys to enjoy the process too.”

Platter of Fact will be holding its first Charcurita workshop at Tinker on Russell St, on October 2, from 2pm.
