Special day for all mothers, heartbreaking for some women

OUR SAY: They might have suffered a loss (or losses) so heartbreaking that it is difficult to see through the pain and to keep going. I am one of those women.

OUR SAY: USUALLY when I get to write the editorial I tend to write about local Toowoomba issues and concerns.

It is not often I get personal, but seeing as though it is Mother's Day as I write this, I thought I might share something deep in my heart.

First of all, a big congratulations and super effort to all our mums out there.

You are all amazing and do such a great job looking after the little ones to the big ones. Because if you are like me, we all still need cuddles from mum from time to time.

But I also wanted to give a shout out to anyone who found the day a bit tough.

They might have lost their mum and are struggling to cope.

They might be trying for a baby and it is taking longer than they expected it to.

They might have chosen not to have children, but are still amazing women who have their own surrogate children in their lives.

Or they might have suffered a loss (or losses) so heartbreaking that it is difficult to see through the pain and to keep going.

I am one of those women.

And I just wanted to say, you are not alone.

To all the ladies out there, a mother is not defined by the number of children you can see, but by the love she holds in her heart.
