TOOWOOMBA is in a better position than most other regional cities when it comes to job opportunities.
Major projects like the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing and QIC shopping centre redevelopment are creating thousands of jobs during construction and many more once completed.
However, job opportunities don't necessarily mean job confidence.
This is apparent in a survey done by The Chronicle in conjunction with Maurice Blackburn Lawyers that revealed 40% of people were not confident in the job market in Toowoomba.
This can be attributed to several factors, such as the impression that these major projects are favouring out-of-town workers over local residents.
There is also concern that these jobs are short-term and won't be replaced once the projects are completed.
We are out to turn this lack of confidence around.
Our 100 Jobs in 50 Days campaign aims to highlight the countless long-term job opportunities in the Toowoomba region and help get those who are unemployed back into the workforce.
We will prove once and for all there is no reason not to be confident in Toowoomba's thriving jobs market.
