Join fight against cancer at Relay For Life

NOTHING seems to bring communities together quite like the Relay For Life, no matter where you are.

NOTHING seems to bring communities together quite like the Relay For Life, no matter where you are.

I knew of the event prior to moving to Dalby years ago, but it was there I had my first significant exposure to it covering it.   The mood there was electric and remained so even in the early hours of the morning.

And one of the most rewarding things was how it brought generations of people together united in the fight against cancer.

That same passion carried over to Kingaroy, an event which raised more than $80,000 last year, and I'm sure it carries over to the Toowoomba event, which will be held at Queen's Park this weekend.

It unsurprising - cancer affects everyone, so we all need to do our bit to support Cancer Council Queensland and help save lives, while honouring those we have lost.

It's still not too late to join in on the fun at the Toowoomba Relay For Life.

There's still time to register, and you can even register on the day.

If you don't know what it's all about, visit fundraising.cancer.org.au to get involved.

If you haven't registered, head along and support those participating.
