Experience the atmosphere found on the streets of Cuba with an upcoming concert set to get pulses racing.

The Toowoomba Municipal Band and guest guitarist Anthony Garcia will bring the sound of Latin music to The Empire Theatre stage this weekend, with upcoming concert A Night in Havana.

“The music is accessible and infectious for everyone, guaranteed to make the audience whistle and hum along with and after the concert,” Toowoomba Municipal Band president Caroline Ryan said.

“It will be a joyous occasion like you have never heard the band play before.”

And while the sound combo of Mariachi trumpets and Rodrigo Guitar Concerto, is enough to draw in a crowd, the concert is all for a very worthy cause too.

Toowoomba Hospice general manager Mark Munro said funds raised would help provide others with free palliative and respite care.

“Support like this event at the Empire Theatre by Toowoomba Municipal Band is so valuable as it shows respect for what it is we do,” Mr Munro said.

“We have provided care to over 1600 clients since opening on July 1, 2003 (and) it’s our mission to continue to provide care in partnership with the community for those with a terminal illness.”

A Night in Havana will be at The Empire Theatre on October 16, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are $25 for adults.
