TOOWOOMBA yoga instructor Aleea Moodie started hosting nude yoga sessions as a way to empower women.
Many people do yoga to help relieve stress or tone their bodies, but she encourages her class to strip off during the session to make them feel more confident and empowered.
Ms Moodie of Yoga Bhava started hosting the classes mid last-year with about 15 women attending each session but her latest nude yoga ''save the date'' event post has gone viral online, with more than 500 people saying they are attending and 4500 people interested.
To advertise the sessions she created an event page on Facebook with a link to the tickets.
Usually the event circulates around Toowoomba and she has full classes, but this time it went viral before she even realised what was happening. The event page has reached 775,000 people from all over Australia and the world.
She said some of the people interested were men being "silly" but many were genuinely interested in the concept and has asked Ms Moodie if she would come to their city to host nude yoga classes.
"The event has gone absolutely viral, it's crazy but really exiting," she said.
"When I started hosting these, my plan was take it around Australia and since this post has reached so many people I am getting requests from people all over the country.
"I want to empower women, not only in Toowoomba but all over Australia."
The idea of stripping off and contorting into different positions may seem horrifying to some, but not to Ms Moodie and her students.
She makes the setting as comfortable and safe as possible.
The room is dark, the women line up in a row with their backs facing a wall and they only focus on controlled, comfortable positions.
Ms Moodie said she understood the concept wasn't for everyone, but those who did attend her classes absolutely loved it.
"Nudity empowers some people, but I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea and that's okay," she said.
"Despite the huge amount of interest from both sexes, whether it's genuine interest or not, I'll be keeping the classes strictly female."
Ms Moodie's next nude yoga session will be held on Sunday, April 15 from 7pm until 8.30pm at Pure Pilates and Wellness Studio.
Tickets are $20 per person and include a free Tarot reading as well.
