NT Police have found and arrested a 38-year-old alleged to have slashed a man’s eye with a broken bottle in Katherine.

NT Police have arrested a 38-year-old man after he allegedly slashed a man’s eye with a broken bottle in Katherine.
Authorities received a report that a 43-year-old man had stumbled into a local bottle shop with deep cuts to his face and a severely injured eye about 6.20pm on Friday.
Police officers arrived on the scene and tried to help a security officer who was providing first aid, but were unable to stop the bleeding.
St John Ambulance arrived on the scene and immediately took the man to Katherine District Hospital.
Police allege the man was stabbed in the face by his partner’s relative, who initially escaped custody.
The Katherine Criminal Investigation Branch arrested the man about 11am on Saturday.
He has since been taken into custody at Katherine Police Station with charges yet to be laid.
The alleged victim has since been taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment.
