A Northern Rivers cleaner has been wiped by a magistrate who slammed him for his continual criminal offending and a less than shiny record.
Now the only mopping he will be doing is behind bars.
Shadrack Fields, 24, was caught driving while disqualified on multiple occasions, including driving three different cars and riding a motorbike.
Court documents reveal the first incident occurred on January 16 in South Lismore, when police spotted Fields driving a Holden Commodore with obscured number plates. Fields admitted his licence was disqualified.
On February 2, he was caught riding a motorbike in North Lismore, testing positive for methylamphetamine.
When police arrested him, Fields attempted to vape, leading to a scuffle as officers believed he was trying to alter his oral fluid test, facts state.
Later that month, on February 20, Fields was stopped for speeding in Booyong while driving his blue Holden Commodore. He again tested positive for methylamphetamine and cannabis.
The following day, February 21, Fields was served with an AVO from his ex-girlfriend, with whom he shares a two-year-old child.
Between February 28 and March 2, Fields sent her a barrage of social media messages including “I’m a big f — k up man”, accused her of “doing his head in” and “making false allegations”.
He accused her of “being a dog and try and lock me up” and “seeing other c — ts while pregnant”.
She replied: “Trying to contact me for a week when you know your conditions is pretty dumb”.
The messages prompted her to provide a domestic violence statement to police. Fields was arrested at Lucky Caravan Park Lismore about 10.10pm on March 3.
On April 3, police saw Fields driving a Ford Territory in Goonellabah, resulting in a court attendance notice for driving while disqualified. The next day, he was pulled over again in the same vehicle at Boatharbour, failing another roadside drug test for methylamphetamine and cannabis.
The court heard Fields earns $2000 a fortnight as a cleaner, with significant expenses for rent and prior fines.
Between his four recent appearances in Lismore and Casino local courts, Fields was convicted and sentenced to 11 months jail with six months non parole for three counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period – which he is now appealing and scheduled for hearing in Lismore District Court on June 24.
Fields was further convicted and sentenced to a two year community correction order for two counts of stalking and intimidation, two further counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and contravene prohibition restriction in AVO as well as fined $1100.
He was also fined $880 for drive vehicle with illicit drug present in blood.
For breaching his community release order via two counts of driving while licence suspended Fields was fined $1540.
Fields was disqualified from holding or obtaining a drivers or riders licence for 12 months.
He pleaded guilty to one final count of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period as a second offence and is scheduled for sentencing in Casino local court on August 21.
