Orange wakes to early morning snowfall as wintry weather sweeps across NSW
Residents in Orange woke to a snowy Monday morning as a cold front moved across NSW, while there was lots more to keep ski enthusiasts happy in the alpine region.

Sydneysiders will experience cloudy and windy conditions on the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday, but it is slightly more exciting in Orange, which turned white.
The Central Tablelands town woke to snowfall early in the morning, following a day of snow on Sunday and subzero overnight temperatures, and more for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Resident Riana Nilasari welcomed the cold snap, saying that her heart had “melted” at the sight of snow.
“I wake up to a magical blanket of snow right outside my window,” she wrote on Instagram.
“For the very first time in my life, I got to enjoy snow right in my backyard.”
No such luck for Sydney, with just a chance of a shower. Winds will be north-westerly at 15km/h to 25 km/h, turning westerly at 30 to 45 km/h in the late morning before decreasing to 25km/h to 35 km/h in the late afternoon.
The strong gusts will make the day feel colder, according to Weatherzone.
The top temperature on Monday will be 15C; Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high of 18C and a low of 11C, while Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high of 17C.
The high temperature in Orange will be 5C and the low -0.1C.
In the state’s alpine region, more than 20cm of snow has blanketed Thredbo’s mid-mountain slopes over the long weekend with 10cm coming from Sunday’s fall.
