A man has been charged after he allegedly hit a 12-year-old pedestrian, then fleeing the scene on the Central Coast last month.

On February 7, emergency services were called to Railway Crescent at Lisarow, following reports a child had been struck by a car.

Paramedics treated the 12-year-old girl at the scene for arm and leg injuries, before she was taken to John Hunter Hospital.

Investigators identified a silver Volkswagen Golf which was around the scene at the time, with the driver of the vehicle deemed a person of interest.

Following an investigation, a 43-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice for failing to stop and assist after impact causing injury.

He is set to face Gosford Local Court on Tuesday 29 April 2025.
