Not long after the house was sprayed with bullets, a burnt-out car was found nearby.
Just before 10.45pm on Thursday, officers from Riverstone Police Area Command were called to the street in Marsden Park, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, police found several shots had been fired into a house but no injuries were sustained.
Around 35 minutes later, at about 11.20pm, emergency services responded to a car fire in a park on Oramzi Rd, Girraween.
The vehicle was completely destroyed despite efforts from Fire and Rescue NSW crews to extinguish the blaze.
Back at the scene of the shooting, Pat Nario said he was half asleep when he heard the gunshots.
“My wife was watching a movie and then all of a sudden we heard some gunshots,” he said.
“She straight away peeked out the window and she saw a couple guys jumping in the car and shooting off.”
Mr Nario said the gunshots were “loud” and his family were “rattled” by the incident.
Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, was on his balcony when he saw the black car enter his street.
“I thought it was like a delivery driver,” he said.
“(The car) was there for about a minute or two and then made a U-turn.”
He said he heard “firecrackers” which he then realised were gunshots.
Police have launched inquiries at both locations and are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.
