A professional wrestler has admitted to intimidating his former business partner when he threatened to find his house before he imitated slitting his throat, a court has heard.

Anthony Peter Lofitis, 37, was refused bail in Sutherland Local Court on Thursday after he pleaded guilty to a charge of intimidation and breaching an apprehended violence order related to the same man.

Agreed facts tendered to court said Lofitis – whose wrestling name is Mikey Lord – and the victim were former business partners involved in professional wrestling.

They had previously disagreed about the ownership of their wrestling equipment and no longer spoke.

In January, Lofitis sent a message to the man on mobile app Telegram saying, “expect a visit tonight from some serious people. I can’t live a happy life because of you … you raised the bar you lying, betraying dog c--t”.

The victim didn’t respond but received a message from a mutual friend informing him Lofitis was attempting to find his address.

Anthony Lofitis will be sentenced next month.

Four days later, the man received a message from Lofitis which said, “I might actually experience happiness again. You ruined my life. Now it’s your time to suffer”.

The man told police he feared for his safety before Lofitis was charged and pleaded guilty during a previous court appearance.

The court heard Lofitis was arrested on Wednesday after he intimidated the same man when he breached the apprehended violence order.

Documents said the man went to Oporto in Taren Point on March 30 and noticed Lofitis was sitting outside the venue.

Lofitis yelled towards him, “you f-----g piece of s--t” before the victim went inside and spoke with the manager of the restaurant.

Lofitis became erratic, yelled and paced outside while the man called police.

Lofitis approached the victim and yelled at him, “how do you like posting underage girls on social media, you pedophile”.

The manager told Lofitis to leave the restaurant and ushered him outside.

A short time later Lofitis used his hand to imitate a slitting throat motion as he looked at the victim.

Police arrived after Lofitis left and obtained CCTV footage and statements.

In court, Lofitis pleaded guilty to the charge and sought release on bail.

A police prosecutor submitted Lofitis showed a “complete disregard for the AVO” and had breached his bail.

Lofitis’ lawyer submitted her client understood the court would not accept Lofitis’ “vigilante behaviour” but he nevertheless took full responsibility for the threats and was remorseful.

Magistrate Holly Kemp noted Lofitis was on bail for the first intimidation offence when he made contact with the victim at Oporto, adding she had no confidence he would comply with bail or the AVO.

He was refused bail and will be sentenced for both offences on May 22.
