Whether it was mullets, live music or plenty of rodeo action there was so much to enjoy for the more than 3500 visitors to the 2024 edition of the Top End Rock N Rodeo Muster.
The mullet fest was a centrepiece event at the muster with well-recognised NT mullet man Kieryn Johnston there to protect his crown and inspire the next generation of growers.
Flynn Jordan Brookes and Max Johnson were among the youngest with years of work put into their hair, even if they had fallen victim to the odd shave along the journey.
Elsewhere, plenty were enjoying the live music or of course the rodeo action itself with events running right through the day until midnight.
Queenslander Ricky Schulz said it was a great event to get along to and that it reminded him of being back at home.
“It’s really good to come out here, and the music has given it all a real feel good vibe,” Mr Schulz said.
“I’m from Queensland and my family has a lot to do with the equestrian industry so this sort of event makes me feel like I’m back at home.”
Alex Syme is no stranger to the rodeo scene going to events across the country, and even further afield, and said it was great to see so many come out to the Top End event.
“It’s good to see so many locals come out for this event, there aren’t many places like Darwin for these sorts of events,” Mr Syme said.
“I’ve gone to rodeos in New South Wales, Queensland and even Calgary in Canada, though I can’t do that anymore, it’s too expensive.”
