The Waratah v Darwin Buffaloes NTFL Men’s Premier League clash between Waratah and Darwin Buffaloes has been called off.
A major injury towards in the Women’s Premier League game between the same two sides preceeding the main event left organisers with little choice but to pull the plug.
The Darwin Buffaloes WPL player suffered a severe lower leg injury early in the third quarter when tackled in the middle of the field.
The severity of the injury quickly became apparent as umpires called time, telling both teams to return to their bench.
Paramedics arrived at the oval to provide the player with pain medication.

Waratah are riding a three-game winning streak after beating St Mary’s, PINT and Tiwi Bombers.
Darwin Buffaloes, on the other hand, have lost all six games to open the season.
The contrast in form couldn’t be more stark, but formlines can easily be turned upside down.
The NT News and KommunityTV will stream every moment of the clash from 7.30pm on Saturday.
The Tahs have every reason to be proud of their recent performances, which have firmed up their spot in the top five.
But the Buffaloes are not be underestimated. They just fell short against Wanderers last weekend after looking the stronger second-half side.
