From Coconut Grove to the city heart, empty walls across the Darwin region have been drenched in colour as part of the 2024 Darwin Street Art Festival.

The annual event, which this year ran from May 18 to June 8, resulted in 21 new murals across Darwin including three new murals each in Parap and Nightcliff, one in Coconut Grove and even one at the Charles Darwin University campus at Casuarina.

Artists were also out in force at shopping centres, public spaces and events, with 12 pop-up walls across BASSINTHEGRASS, Casuarina Square, The Waterfront, and the Botanic Gardens.

In Parap an entire laneway, floor and all, was painted, while three hotels got a makeover including Novotel Darwin CBD, The Frontier Hotel and Argus Apartments.

A splash of colour was also applied to three apartment buildings – Marrakai Apartments, City Heights and Hickory St Apartment Block.

In a special twist, an epic music mural featuring the albums of 21 Northern Territory artists from a range of genres, ages and cultures was also unveiled.

Those featured include Territory talents JMilla, Vassy, Sietta, David Garnham and Kris Keogh, with the artwork created by artist doWatFeelsGood.
